When updating Skype to version 6.18 and above, on a computer with HP HD Webcamera drivers [Fixed] version 6.00 and above, a critical error occurs that at least refuses to work with the webcam, and, at most, restarts the computer with the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) .

Troubleshooting:

There are a lot of tips. The most simple and working methods are to roll back to the older version of either Skype or the web driver measures. Rollback of Skype is not the best solution, as updates are sometimes very interesting. But rolling back the HP HD Webcamera [Fixed] / HP WebCam 101 driver is a better solution. The latest successful driver version is 5.9.80.10.
